Raised in Southern California, Doug moved to Flagstaff to attend NorthernArizona University. After graduating Doug moved to Park City, Utah to teach school. Doug’s focus changed to corporate food and beverage when he went to work for Bon Appetit Management Company in the San Francisco Bay Area. During his years with Bon Appetit as a District Manager, he oversaw the food services at many well-known high-tech companies. Doug ended his work life in 2013 at Google, where he supervised the expansion of their F&B services in the US, South America and Europe.

After retiring and relocating to St George in 2014, Doug and his wife Marianne became co-directors of the Southern Utah Wine Guild, a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Doug and Marianne taught Introduction to Wines at Utah Tech University’s Institute for Continued Learning (ICL), and wine pairing classes through Harmons.

As a lifelong athlete, Doug has run a dozen marathons, countless half marathons and a number of ultramarathon trail events. Doug currently works part-time for the City of St George as a race specialist and course manager for all the City events. Doug and Marianne are the co-directors for the Race and Power Walks for the Huntsman World Senior Games.
