Step into a colorful world of creativity at the annual Kayenta Street Painting Festival, presented by the Kayenta Arts Foundation. This year’s theme, “Under One Desert Sky,” celebrates the breathtaking beauty of our desert landscape and the sense of community it inspires.
Over the course of the weekend, talented students and professional artists transform the Art Village walkways into stunning chalk murals, using the pavement as their canvas. Watch the artwork come to life in real time as vibrant desert colors and imaginative designs unfold before your eyes.
Bring the whole family and spend the weekend exploring the festival—vote for your favorite artwork, stroll through the Art Village galleries, enjoy live music and delicious food trucks, and experience a joyful celebration of art, community, and the desert we call home.

Our 5K Color Fun Run Returns!
Register before March 16 to guarantee T-Shirt Size!

Participants of all ages and abilities can run-walk-stroll through 3.1 miles of our beautiful Kayenta landscape during the Annual Kayenta 5K Color Fun Run!
Each color stop during the race will feature powdered paint stations to allow each participant to end the race as a colorful masterpiece! The fun doesn’t stop at the finish line. Enjoy a breakfast snack and beverage (orange juice, water, or coffee) at the finish line while you stroll through the fantastic art of the Kayenta Street Painting Festival.

This signature event, hosted by the Center for the Arts at Kayenta, draws nearly 4,000 attendees each year—and with the return of our second annual Color Fun Run 5K to kick off the weekend, we expect an even bigger turnout this year!
