Changing the game for cello literature\, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2 in G Minor takes the instrument upwards towards an equal partner status with the piano\, while doing so in a tragic key. Brahms’ Cello Sonata No. 1 in E Minor is an epic journey that takes the cello into the depths of somber beauty and raw emotion. Both showcase the capabilities and the range of the cello\, and are undeniable to the growth of the cello as a solo instrument for many composers to come. \n\n\n\n TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSouthern California native Kevin Mills holds an Artist Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory\, a Master of Music from The Juilliard School\, and a Bachelor of Music from California State University\, Fullerton. Based in Los Angeles\, he serves as Principal Cellist of the Rogue Valley Symphony and Assistant Principal Cellist of the Las Vegas Philharmonic\, and performs regularly with the Santa Barbara and Bakersfield Symphonies. He is also a frequent substitute with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. \n\n\n\nRecent highlights include solo appearances at Walt Disney Concert Hall\, performing Bruch’s Kol Nidrei and Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto in G Minor with the Korean-American Youth Symphony. His studio work spans major venues such as Capitol Records and Sony Pictures. A dedicated chamber musician\, Mills has performed nationally and internationally with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and The Greenhouse Foundation in Seoul\, Korea. He performs on a 1779 Renault & Chatelain cello\, a cherished gift from his first teacher. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDrew Petersen is an acclaimed American pianist based in the New York area\, known for his poetic and compelling performances across a wide-ranging repertoire from Bach to contemporary composers. A highly sought-after soloist\, recitalist\, and chamber musician\, he has received major honors including the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 2017 American Pianists Awards. His 2025–26 season features recitals across the U.S. and concerto debuts with the Baltimore and Hartford Symphonies. His debut Steinway & Sons recording\, focused on American composers\, was praised by BBC Music Magazine as marking him a rising star. \n\n\n\nPetersen is also a frequent presence on radio programs like From the Top and Performance Today\, and has been featured in major media outlets and documentaries. Beyond performance\, he is an advocate for the arts\, engaging in educational outreach and collaborations with organizations like Young Audiences NY. A Harvard graduate and Juilliard-trained musician\, he combines academic excellence with a global artistic perspective\, aiming to share music’s transformative power with diverse audiences worldwide.

In The Delirium of Beethoven\, a dissatisfied musician\, Quinn stumbles upon the great composer & musician\, Beethoven\, who has strangely arrived to the modern world. Suddenly\, Quinn’s world is opened up to the possibility of something new. An avant-garde\, collaborative production emerges from the power of original live music incorporated into unique contemporary theatre. \n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Kayenta Summer Arts Showcase\, an all-month event featuring exceptional local artists and the premiere of brand-new creative work\, across several disciplines. He is the percussionist and Co-Artistic Director of Grand Circle New Music. GCNM exists to promote the performance of new solo and chamber music. Grand Circle New Music is especially interested in music created in and about the Grand Circle region of the Southwestern United States. \nGlenn directs the Percussion Ensemble and New Music Ensemble at Utah Tech University. He is Artistic Director of the St George Jazz Festival and leads the Rebel Jazz Band. He leads the St George All-Stars performing originals and new standards. He is the President of St George Jazz. \nHe was the Founding Chair of the Music Department at Utah Tech and currently serves as Associate Dean of the College of the Arts. He is the house drummer/percussionist at Tuacahn performing for 2\,000 patrons six shows a week. Dr. Webb has music degrees from UNLV\, University of Utah\, and Weber State University. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAshlie Chaston is a recent graduate of Utah Tech\, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre with an Acting Emphasis. During her short time there\, she participated in almost 20 productions. Ashlie is an actor\, director\, writer\, and everything in between–she’s even certified in rapier! Most recently\, she stage managed A Caregiver’s Guide at Kayenta. Some of her favorite acting roles include Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream\, William Dunnn in Men on Boats\, Miss Shingle in A Gentleman’s Guide\, and Beatrix in This Girl Laughs\, This Girl Cries\, This Girl does Nothing. As for directing\, Ashlie’s favorites thus far have been Striptease by Slawomir Mrozek and Where the Lonely Hearts Go by Finegan Kruckemeyer. We’ll see you soon! \n\n\n\n\nAmanda Empey\, author of White Crown Academy\, has been part of the Southern Utah writing community for nearly 10 years. As the current president of Write On\, St George\, she is passionate to see local writers succeed. Amanda has two book projects underway and has recently taken an interest in writing poetry.
