SUMMARY:Sunday Night... All Right!
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS $15Outdoor Music & Dancing Featuring Stillhouse Road \nSunday Night… All Right!\n\nSunday\, June 25\, 2023\n\n\n\nKayenta Village Outdoor Theater\n\n\n\nDoors open at 7:00pm. Stillhouse Road will be performing from 7:30pm until 9:30pm. \n\n\n\nCelebrate the Equinox in Kayenta on June 25th at the Kayenta Village Outdoor Theater with a night of music\, dancing and fun. \n\n\n\nSunday Night… All Right! presents  Stillhouse Road\, featuring the talents of Joe and Paula Ferrario.  Joe and Paula have been active in the Southern Utah music scene for over 10 years performing a special blend of bluegrass\, mountain music\, and country classics designed for toe tapping\, dancing and revisiting the classic songs of the past.  Your own snacks and beverages are welcome.  Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for sale as well.  Join your friends as we celebrate the passing of the equinox with the songs you love. \n\n\n\nAbout Stillhouse Road\n\n\n\nJoe began his musical career in California\, his home-state. To us\, Bluegrass music is uniquely alive\, because of the community of  artists and fans that keep it fresh and interesting.” \n\n\n\nSunday Night… All Right! is organized by Gwen Harrington and Roger Head. \nTICKETS $15

SUMMARY:Voyager Lecture Series: James Webb Space Telescope
DESCRIPTION:The Voyager Lecture Series are evenings to inspire curiosity and wonder. Now in our sixth season\, we’ve expanded our wildly popular series to include new guest speakers who will entertain us with thoughtful and exciting stories ranging from the mysteries of pre-recorded history to mysteries of the cosmos. \nThe James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a space telescope which conducts infrared astronomy. As the largest optical telescope in space\, its high resolution and sensitivity allow it to view objects too old\, distant\, or faint for the Hubble Space Telescope. This will enable investigations across many fields of astronomy and cosmology\, such as observation of the first stars\, the formation of the first galaxies\, and detailed atmospheric characterization of potentially habitable exoplanets. \nThe James Webb Space Telescope was launched on 25 December 2021 on an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou\, French Guiana\, and arrived at the Sun in January 2022. The first JWST image was released to the public via a press conference on 11 July 2022. \n  \nPurchase Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Delbert Anderson & D'DAT Trio
DESCRIPTION:D’DAT Trio is led by Navajo(Diné) Jazz Trumpeter and Composer\, Delbert Anderson. He is both a leader and innovator in today’s contemporary Jazz scene and a Diné culture bearer. His work brings forth traditional Diné songs once sung in Diné social circles called “spinning songs\,” and captures their voice in the language of jazz and funk. \nThrough the support of visionary multi-cultural Jazz fusion drummers and bassists\, Anderson builds safe havens for Diné melodies to converse with various styles and pathways for expression. In all their forms\, compositions are guided by the time-immemorial Diné principles of Hózhó-harmony\, beauty and balance with self\, other and nature and Ké or kinship. In this way\, Anderson connects across genre and culture\, all the while\, remaining steadfast in a signature sound that is as strong as the centuries of traditions it was built upon. \n“By mining traditional Navajo “spinning songs” of love\, healing and courtship\, and marrying them to jazz and funk lines\, Anderson and his trio have taken a place at the forefront of a vibrant Native American jazz scene.” – Michael Powell\, New York Times. \nIn connection with their work as performers\, D’DAT Trio extends their desire to create cross-cultural safe spaces through outreach\, education and wellness workshops that encourage personal expression and community cohesion. \nD’DAT Trio is represented by Indigenous Performance Productions\, a nonprofit company. \nPurchase Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Voyager Lecture Series: Jurassic World: Could It Become a Reality
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Jerry Harris \n  \nLECTURES & IDEAS \nTuesday\, March 21\, 2023\, 7:30pm \nSocial Hour with Like-Minded Friends: 6:30pm \nThe Lorraine Boccardo Theater \n  \nThe Voyager Lecture Series are evenings to inspire curiosity and wonder. Now in our sixth season\, we’ve expanded our wildly popular series to include new guest speakers who will entertain us with thoughtful and exciting stories ranging from the mysteries of pre-recorded history to mysteries of the cosmos. \n  \nOur March lecture is presented by Jerry Harris\, Director of Paleontology at Utah Tech University. Learn about what the filmmakers of Jurassic Park got right about the past – and future – of dinosaurs on earth.   \n  \nDr. Jerry Harris was born at a very early age in Chicago\, Illinois. Shortly thereafter\, he became enamored with dinosaurs\, and his continued fascination with them proves that he’s never quite grown up completely. With a few hiccups along the way\, and by continually moving across the country\, he has earned B.A.\, M.S.\, and Ph.D. degrees in the geosciences\, focusing on vertebrate paleontology. He has worked at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science; he is currently the Director of Paleontology and a Professor of Geology at Utah Tech University and is the scientific advisor to the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm in St. George. \n  \nPurchase Tickets Here
