SUMMARY:Voyager Lecture Series: Jurassic World: Could It Become a Reality
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Jerry Harris \n  \nLECTURES & IDEAS \nTuesday\, March 21\, 2023\, 7:30pm \nSocial Hour with Like-Minded Friends: 6:30pm \nThe Lorraine Boccardo Theater \n  \nThe Voyager Lecture Series are evenings to inspire curiosity and wonder. Now in our sixth season\, we’ve expanded our wildly popular series to include new guest speakers who will entertain us with thoughtful and exciting stories ranging from the mysteries of pre-recorded history to mysteries of the cosmos. \n  \nOur March lecture is presented by Jerry Harris\, Director of Paleontology at Utah Tech University. Learn about what the filmmakers of Jurassic Park got right about the past – and future – of dinosaurs on earth.   \n  \nDr. Jerry Harris was born at a very early age in Chicago\, Illinois. Shortly thereafter\, he became enamored with dinosaurs\, and his continued fascination with them proves that he’s never quite grown up completely. With a few hiccups along the way\, and by continually moving across the country\, he has earned B.A.\, M.S.\, and Ph.D. degrees in the geosciences\, focusing on vertebrate paleontology. He has worked at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science; he is currently the Director of Paleontology and a Professor of Geology at Utah Tech University and is the scientific advisor to the St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm in St. George. \n  \nPurchase Tickets Here
