Mercury\, Nevada?  The latter was the site for the testing of 928 nuclear weapons on American soil from 1951 to 1992. The fallout is still lethally impacting Americans today. Martin Sheen narrates this harrowing exposé of the United States’ disregard for everyone living… DOWNWIND. \nOne of this year’s original Oscar-qualifiers\, DOWNWIND has won several awards on the festival circuit. \nIn the wake of Oppenheimer\, DOWNWIND exposes the United States Government’s 928 nuclear detonations from 1951-1992 at the Nevada Test Site and the ongoing impact of radioactive fallout on countless communities — and the environment. \nDOWNWIND features two-time Oscar-winner Michael Douglas\, political satirist Lewis Black and is narrated by iconic anti-nuclear activist Martin Sheen. Coombs\, MSF\, CSRIC®\nOptional Social Hour With Like-Minded Friends\, Light Snacks And Beverages @ 6:30pm\nThe Lorraine Boccardo Theater\nIn this presentation\, we will explore the pivotal role of sustainable investing data in addressing the challenge of water scarcity. As water becomes increasingly scarce due to climate change and population growth\, it is imperative for investors and consumers alike to scrutinize the actions of companies regarding water management. We will delve into how sustainable investing can drive positive change in pinpointing adaptation\, mitigation\, and resilience strategies. By examining key metrics such as water usage efficiency\, wastewater management\, public commitments\, and innovation in water-saving technologies\, we can identify companies that are actively contributing to water conservation efforts and those that may be exacerbating the problem. Join us as we navigate the intersection of finance and environmental stewardship to secure a more water-secure future for all. \nJennifer (Jenny) Coombs is the Director of Client Success at Ethos ESG: a values-based and impact investing data and analytics software that is part of ACA Group’s ESG advisory team. SUMMARY:Martha Scanlan & Jon Neufeld
DESCRIPTION:MUSIC\nMartha Scanlan & Jon Neufeld\nFriday\, March 8\, 2024 // 7:30pm\nThe Lorraine Boccardo Theater\nAnyone familiar with Martha Scanlan and Jon Neufeld’s unique alchemy on stage will not be surprised by the sense of being taken into the moment – their shows are in and of themselves a journey of improvisation; the way Jon Neufeld’s brilliant innovative guitar playing weaves effortlessly around Martha’s timeless songwriting is simply magical. While currents of deep Appalachian mountain valleys and vast Montana landscapes wind through Martha’s songs\, it’s really the accessibility and intimacy that defines them\, and how they seem to find their way into soundtracks by TBone Burnett\, pages of celebrated American novelists like Rick Bass and Joyce Carol Oates\, shared mixes by Emmy Lou Harris\, covers by roots musicians from Sarah Jarosz to Andrew Marlin to Solas\, quiet song circles and camp fires. \n  \n \n  \n$35
