Desert Spirit Art Committee Group Exhibitions
WE BELIEVE THAT ART, IN ALL FORMS, ENHANCES OUR LIVES AND DEMANDS DISPLAY.
The Desert Spirit Art Committee organizes three juried visual art exhibitions each season at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta. The Committee encourages and invites both established and emerging regional artists to submit original artwork that responds to the exhibition’s themes.
Exhibition Opening Receptions are held in conjunction with “First Fridays.” The exhibits are always free and open to the public during the Center’s regular business hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00a-6:00p, plus during evening performance events.

Reflections & Shadows
PHOTOGRAPHY
Are you fascinated by the way light bounces off of an object? Or maybe you are drawn more to the dark side! Whatever your subject matter, this exhibit challenges photographers to explore light in a unique way. You may submit color or black and white photographs and, this season, there are no size restrictions.

PAINTING
This is the perfect time of year to fill our gallery with color and imagination! The exhibit is open to all subject matter using any painting medium – oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache. Consider a new challenge and express yourself through abstracts, animals, still life, Plein-air, or portraits.

Eye Candy
2D & 3D ART
Using the muse of your choice, tempt the eye with something that might invoke a visual “feeling.” In addition to drawing and printmaking, this exhibit is open to artists working in fabric, clay, weaving, wood, encaustics, needlework, metal, and fiber art.
