Kayenta Art Village
Celebrate the creative spirit of Southern Utah every First Friday at Kayenta! This monthly event brings together art, music, community, and now—a curated boutique market from Southern Utah Market, featuring an exceptional selection of local art, crafts, and farmers market favorites. Shop handmade goods, meet regional artisans, and enjoy the vibrant energy that fills the Kayenta Arts Village.
Our ongoing partnership with DOCUTAH adds another layer of inspiration, presenting this year’s “Best of Fest” film series—a handpicked showcase of audience favorites and award-winning films from the Utah-based international film festival. It’s your chance to experience world-class storytelling right here in Kayenta.
Stroll the galleries, explore open studios, discover something new at the market, and end the evening with thought-provoking cinema under the stars.

Friday, February 6 Lineup: Fire & Ice
First Friday ignites at the Kayenta Art Village with Runaway Fire, the rock band bringing their high-energy original sound to the courtyard. Explore the Village as it comes alive with the Southern Utah Market’s curated boutique market, featuring handmade goods by local artists for all ages. Warm up with hot food to beat the winter chill, then cool down with ice cream for the perfect mix. End the night at the DOCUTAH screening of Cigarette Surfboard inside the theater.

Live Music in the Courtyard
Runaway Fire
4:00PM-7:30PM
The world’s new original rock and roll band, Runaway Fire, is creating waves in the unisphere with vocal melodies and stylish guitar tones soaring through tube amps so beautiful they may just send a rip tide of audio large enough to shift the weather into a random rainstorm in the desert. Their original songs are melodic, magical, rhythmic, percussive, catchy, beautiful, powerful, and easy to sing along with.

DOCUTAH Presents:
Cigarette Surfboard // 7:30PM
The Lorraine Boccardo Theater
An impassioned surfer, Taylor Lane, creates a functional surfboard with 10,000 littered cigarette butts collected from California beaches. The Cigarette Surfboard becomes a platform to learn from professional surfers who are working to protect and restore the health of the ocean, and the symbol of a grassroots campaign to hold Big Tobacco accountable for their toxic, plastic waste. Surfing is the medium, but the message is universal.
Runtime: 93 Minutes
