SUMMER ARTS SHOWCASE: POETRY
Poetry Jams: Thresholds
hosted by Amanda Empey
June 27, 8:00PM – 10:00PM
Kayenta Outdoor Theater
We’re taking the mic under the stars! Join us for a collaborative jam with local poets. The theme is Thresholds. Come and hear poetry, read your own work, and even write something new. We’ll see you soon!

Amanda Empey, author of White Crown Academy, has been part of the Southern Utah writing community for nearly 10 years. As the current president of Write On, St George, she is passionate to see local writers succeed. Amanda has two book projects underway and has recently taken an interest in writing poetry. In her free time she reads, practices yoga, and dabbles in video game development and storytelling.
This event is part of the Kayenta Summer Arts Showcase, an all-month event featuring exceptional local artists and the premiere of brand-new creative work, across several disciplines. Join us this June to celebrate and experience local art, fun, and community.
We’re introducing tiered ticket pricing for this program. The Kayenta Summer Arts Showcase is about welcoming audiences to see the work of artists within their own community. We’re committed to making our events as accessible as possible, and believe this tiered structure will help remove financial barriers, while also presenting quality events and compensating artists fairly for their work. The pricing tiers are as follows:
