SUMMER ARTS SHOWCASE: VISUAL ART
Thresholds: The Liminal Sky
Addison Kanoelani
Judy & Tim Terrell Lobby
Opening Social: June 5, 4PM – 7:30PM, during First Fridays at Kayenta
Gallery Open: June 6-30, 9AM – 5PM
Created from midnight skies and the search for guidance in the stars, this exhibit explores the space between endings and beginnings—when you are no longer who you were, yet not fully who you are meant to be. Rooted in desert nights and the pull of something greater, each work holds a sense of quiet anticipation, where darkness is not empty, but alive with possibility.
Soft points of light emerge within the pieces like distant stars, creating a subtle, living glow that shifts as you move—echoing the feeling of standing beneath an open night sky. Real preserved flowers are embedded into every work, bringing the presence of nature into each piece and grounding the ethereal in something tangible and alive.
Thresholds: The Liminal Sky invites you to pause, feel deeply, and step into the quiet in-between—where transformation begins, and something unseen is waiting for you.

Addison Kanoelani is a nature-based luxury abstract artist whose work is inspired by the connecting point of emotion, nature, and cosmos. A Fine Arts graduate, her work has been exhibited in galleries across Phoenix and Los Angeles. Born of Hawaiian heritage and now based in Southern Utah, Addison creates richly layered, multi-sensory paintings built from preserved flowers she grows herself, crystals, and other elements of nature, along with resin. Her newest work incorporates embedded fiber optic lighting, adding a living, luminous quality that shifts with the environment around it. Each piece is constructed slowly and intentionally from her St. George studio — some taking months to complete — resulting in immersive compositions that feel both intimate and expansive. She creates for collectors who feel deeply — those who know the difference between art that fills a wall and art that changes a room.
